  10. Two comments here. One is that, even though the PPro/P6 and P7 will do
  11. better when unhampered by 16-bit apps and significant legacy
  12. compatibility, they will still be much more expensive chips. You can get
  13. two 604s and the power of parallel processing for the price of one P6.

  15. The other comment, and one that is only a wishfully thinking rumor that I
  16. can only dream is true but know to just be so much stardust: Apple is
  17. developing Copland for the x86 architechture. Well, it would certainly
  18. explain why things have been so delayed!

  44. I have a strange, yet forward looking question.
  45. Since apple is porting linux to the powermac:

  47. They hope to have it done this year.
  48. First NuBus powermac's.  PCI later.
  49. Source code will be free.

  51. BUT, You have to reboot to switch for linux to MacOS, I wonder if Linux for
  52. the powermac, might help fit the bill, for someone who owned a mac, but
  53. sometimes needed linux and mac at the same time.  My question is:  Does ardi
  54. have any plans to port Executor/Linux to non-80386 versions of linux?
