- Two comments here. One is that, even though the PPro/P6 and P7 will do
- better when unhampered by 16-bit apps and significant legacy
- compatibility, they will still be much more expensive chips. You can get
- two 604s and the power of parallel processing for the price of one P6.
-
- The other comment, and one that is only a wishfully thinking rumor that I
- can only dream is true but know to just be so much stardust: Apple is
- developing Copland for the x86 architechture. Well, it would certainly
- explain why things have been so delayed!

- I have a strange, yet forward looking question.
- Since apple is porting linux to the powermac:
- For information on the port see http://www.mklinux.apple.com/
- They hope to have it done this year.
- First NuBus powermac's. PCI later.
- Source code will be free.
-
- BUT, You have to reboot to switch for linux to MacOS, I wonder if Linux for
- the powermac, might help fit the bill, for someone who owned a mac, but
- sometimes needed linux and mac at the same time. My question is: Does ardi
- have any plans to port Executor/Linux to non-80386 versions of linux?
