- I just connected my Laptop via plip with my large computer and installed
- X11 on it (not really reasonable on a 386SL with 4MB, but well... life is
- boring if you try to behave reasonable all the time).
-
- Then I tried:
-
- export DISPLAY="laptop:0.0"
- executor &
-
- After a while a window appeared on the LCD of the laptop, but some
- graphic operations write the content of the left half of the screen
- on the left AND right halves of the screen, effectively owerwriting
- the right half with a copy of the left.
-
- This concerns: the opening message, the menu-bar, the window background,
- the map of risk.
-
- Not affected: Drop-down menus, buttons, individual countries in risk.
-
- Is my installation broken, or is this a bug?
- (Executor 1.99q, Linux 1.3.57, on the P90-tower,
- Linux 1.2.13, XF86-3.1.2, XF86-VGA16 (generic chipset, 4-bit PseudoColor)
- on the laptop)
-
- Bye, Florian.

-
- The kernel should *never* crash, no matter what Executor does. (I am
- assuming you are using Executor/X.) So whether or not it's a bug in
- Executor, it is definitely a bug in your kernel, or your hardware.
-
- Upgrade to the latest 1.3.x kernel and see if the problem goes away.
- If it doesn't, write up *exactly* how to reproduce the problem and
- mail it to "linux-kernel@vger.rutgers.edu".

- Hello...
-
- Trying not to be too annoying :) I just wanted to let people know that
- we're carrying the latest versions of the executor demo for all 3
- platforms on our "Linux" (loosely interpreted lately :) monthly CD. The
- february disk contains 1.99q. (actually just made it by hours, thanks
- ARDI!)
-
- http://www.pht.com/linux/monthly.html
-
- we're also mirroring ardi's ftp site:
-
- ftp://ftp.pht.com/pub/linux/ardi
-
- (now if only q1 would come out in time for the march CD!)

- First off i have a Packard Bell Legend 10CD iDX4100 16M ram. Using executor
- 1.99q Dos.
-
- I first tried executor 1.99p6 and it could not access floppy or CD-ROM drives.
- When I would try to format a floppy it would give me that Low level format
- error, sometimes even an I/O error. I didn't know if it was me or what.
-
- I have not had any progress until now with 1.99q. I still have all the above
- problems above in DOS but when I run Win95 and executor it all works!!!
-
- I don't know what version of executor + Win95 made it work. I know for sure:
-
- 1: Dos doesn't work right with the above 1.99p6 - 1.99q
- 2: Win95 + executor 1.99q WORKS!
-
- Now that I am able to copy my old Mac Classic games I realizing that a lot of
- old B&W 1987-1990 games that I have don't have sound that works right. Most
- annoying is not getting sound to work on Crystal Quest 2.2 or 2.3
-
- Ask If ya need any fine details, Keep up the good work.
