  1. In a recent post about doom under Executor it was stated that there might
  2. be some tips available to speed up Wolf 3D under executor. Please post any
  3. of the tips you may have. I used to love Wolf 3D years ago when it came
  4. out on the PC. My old SI does'nt have the juice to make it enjoyable. My
  5. pentium 75 runs it pretty well, but if there's anything else I can Tweak
  6. it would be cool. The graphics and the sound seem to blow away the old PC
  7. version but that might be my poor recollection.

  46. The problem has to do with the way Executor accesses the Digital to
  47. Analog Converter (DAC) that VGA based screens use to display colors.

  56. The problem is that VBE 2.0 is sufficiently new that we don't yet have
  57. drivers for our machines that provide that particular piece of
  58. functionality, so although we could put code into Executor to detect
  59. this extension and use it when present, we wouldn't be able to test
  60. it.  There is a new version of UniVBE due out real soon now and that
  61. may change things.  We hope to support 8-bit DACs (when they're
  62. present) by the time Executor 2 ships.

  99. white sign saying something like "Executor: run Mac apps on a PC"
  100. and a nice Pentium and laptop displaying working demos of Executor.

  102.     It was nice seeing the folks at ARDI there, after talking
  103. to them on the net and seeing posts on this newsgroup. :)

  107.     Quite a few people came by, actually, considering how
  108. simple the ARDI booth was in comparison to the others.

  110. (In all fairness, the simplicity was partly that they were rushed
  111.  getting to MacWorld, and they were contrasted with companies like
  112.  Microsoft and Symantic and Fractal Design.)

  114.     No offense to the ladies, but it was amazing how many
  115. people there were NOT geeks, and lots of the booths had beautiful
  116. women displaying the products.  I have to say, there were some 
  117. studly (study=knowledgable) women there, showing off features of
  118. their products.  Actually, it would have been nice to have met the
  119. famous "Mellisa" of ARDI. :)
