Does anyone know how to copy a disk image, such as the ones that are found on the Apple ftp site to a disk? I tried the suggested disk copy utility on that same site, but it would not run: it told me "You cannot run this program on this type of Macintosh" (at least Executor had the program fooled that much! <g>) -Will Waites (wwaites@mail.aei.ca) From owner-paper Wed Jan 10 00:13:53 1996 Return-Path: <owner-paper> Received: by ftp.ardi.com (Smail3.1.29.1 #3) id m0tZujE-0007qEa; Wed, 10 Jan 96 00:13 MST Sender: owner-paper Received: from ardi.com by ftp.ardi.com (Smail3.1.29.1 #3) id m0tZuie-0007qCn; Wed, 10 Jan 96 00:13 MST Path: sloth.swcp.com!ns2.mainstreet.net!news.isp.net!news.internetMCI.com!newsfeed.internetmci.com!vixen.cso.uiuc.edu!news.ksu.ksu.edu!hptemp1.cc.umr.edu!tfries From: tfries@rocket.cc.umr.edu (Todd Fries) Newsgroups: comp.emulators.mac.executor Subject: Re: Soft Windows Date: 9 Jan 1996 22:42:44 GMT Organization: UMR Missouri's Technological University Lines: 16 Message-ID: <4cur14$e98@hptemp1.cc.umr.edu> References: <30F07E60.B70@auckland.ac.nz> NNTP-Posting-Host: rocket.cc.umr.edu X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2] To: executor@ardi.com X-MailNews-Gateway: From newsgroup comp.emulators.mac.executor Sender: owner-paper@ardi.com Precedence: bulk John de Bruin (j.bruin@auckland.ac.nz) wrote: : I know this is a little silly and completly pointless but can SoftWindows for Mac, which emulates : a 486 in its latest version I believe, run Executor/DS. Photoshop - what is the status of it, we haven't heard for a while 2. News group as support mechanism is problematic I have just spent 30 minutes going through my news reader picking the threads I want to read and skipping all the posts about mac vs executor, linux vs dos etc. My time is valuable to me, I bought the product before it worked for my needs, because I wanted to support you. Now that I have to spend time wading through insipid flames and questions that are answered in the faq to get support, my fondness for Ardi is dropping. Another mailing list for either registered users, or for advanced questions is not that CPU and bandwith intensive. Can we please do something? Once again, I really do think ARDI is a great company, and any thing you can do to help will be appreciated. mike From owner-paper Wed Jan 10 02:14:12 1996 Return-Path: <owner-paper> Received: by ftp.ardi.com (Smail3.1.29.1 #3) id m0tZwbe-0007qCa; Wed, 10 Jan 96 02:14 MST Sender: owner-paper Received: from ardi.com by ftp.ardi.com (Smail3.1.29.1 #3) id m0tZwb2-0007qDn; Wed, 10 Jan 96 02:13 MST Path: sloth.swcp.com!tesuque.cs.sandia.gov!ferrari.mst6.lanl.gov!newshost.lanl.gov!ncar!uchinews!vixen.cso.uiuc.edu!uwm.edu!psuvax1!thunderbolt.ecsel.psu.edu!news.math.psu.edu!news.cac.psu.edu!usenet From: Ericb@psu.edu (emb121 (Eric Bennett)) Newsgroups: comp.emulators.mac.executor Subject: Re: ANYBODY HAVE A MAC EMULATOR FOR PC ? And compared to a 286, SoftWindows is fast. The Mac II came out in 1987. That's approaching nine years old; saying Executor outperforms the Mac II series is not likely to impress many people. Now, if you were to say something like "Executor's 680x0 emulation is almost on par with the original Apple emulator in PowerPC Macs"--which is almost the case since my friend's P120 running Executor is nealy as fast as my PMac 7100/66 when running 680x0 code--then maybe more people would be impressed :-).
