    First, I wanted to thank everyone for your help, I got several E-mails,
and several re-sponces to my post.  I would like to clarify that I like the
software.  I would also like to be more clear on one point.  I can not get
it to run at all under dos.  I can boot from a 6.22 boot disk and I get no
video (even with univbe 5.1)  It just kinda sits and does nothing.  But, If I boot off of my hard disk
to Windows 95 (which sucks by the way, don't waste your money)then I can launch
a dos icon and ren executor.

any advice?

where can I get ghostscrpt (the post script emulator)

I have read the faq, but that was a few versions ago  I will read however.

I would just like to make one other point, I got many responces to the post
and I would like to say, thanks!  I got the downloading and binhex thing going!

I've been on this mailing list for almost a year. Things were fine up till
December 20th, (aside from extra traffic from the new newsgroup), then it
stopped. I got one more digest (I'm on the digest version of the list) on
the 26th of december, and then NOTHING. Is anyone still out there?

I've installed the executor demo on my IBM running linux, and I upgraded
to linux 1.2.13 (with the ardi patch) so I could run executor-svga.
(I'm still not sure if I'm going to buy executor or not.  I don't need
it, but it is pretty neat.)
Anyhow, executor runs just fine in X11, but when I try executor-svga,
it looks fine, but the cursor arrow is spastic, and not really under
the control of the mouse.  Has anyone else had this problem?

Well, I got two mail messages from people saying I AM on the list, and an
attempt to resubscribe to the list failed, saying that I am on the list.
My question is: Has this list inexplicably died or is there some other
problem with me getting the messages since sometime in december?

No it isn't unfair..  No IBM company has needed to make an "Apple"
compatibility card, because IBM users can already do everything
they need to
do.  Only Mac users need the power of an IBM..  It's taken 12
years, but
Apple's almost has a software collection now, that's why we need
Executor.
Apple is just pittifull.

Sort of pointless, isn't it?  Does that mean you can control the
mac from your

This problem has been reported on a few different systems.  In each
case, the problem has been that svgalib was configured for the wrong
mouse type, or /dev/mouse was a symlink to the wrong device.

Double check the svgalib config file (/etc/vga/libvga.config), and if
that looks OK see if you can get svgalib's mousetest to work on your
system.

First, I recommend that you copy the .hqx files into an .hfv volume; I've
had better luck this way (sometimes the un-hqxing apps have trouble writing
to the Win95 volumes, I've found).  Second, don't use BinHex; use Stuffit
Expander.  You've probably been encoding instead of decoding.  You need to
have Stuffit decode the .hqx file to make it binary; then, it's probably
also stuffed or compacted (mac compression schemes), if you got it from FTP.
 So it will unStuff the file.  Then you should be able to double-click it.
Double-clicking files only works if they have the correct creator/type
information, which you can check by getting info (left-alt-i) on the file.

What speed is your machine?  How much RAM?  Mine doesn't take anywhere close
to two minutes to start up (486DX4/100, 12Mb).  What is it you can't do in
10 minutes, anyway? Perhaps you could ask some of the registered users on
this newsgroup to try it out for you, if it's easy enough to do.  Good luck.

Oh, if you're short on RAM, realize that running from outside of Win95 will
give Executor more RAM, though you won't have access to long file names on
DOS/Win95 drives.  But at least try this to see if it starts faster.
