- They have a liscence agreement set up with Apple.
-
- What happened is that Apple finally noticed that that market was being swamped
- with IBM compatible machines, and decided to try a fascinating "too little,
- too late" strategy of allowing specfic other companies to produce Apple
- compatible machines.
-
- I'm not sure when the experience we've seen time and again will finally
- become common knowledge: proprietary systems and computers just
- _dont_ _mix_.

- I have had problems with E/D 1.99p-p9 running HyperCard. I also
- tried ResEdit, even though I know it doesn't work.
- I had been running Executor with a command line option of
- -system 7.1, which, apparently was causing the problem. I just
- tried setting it back to the default of 6.0.7 with E/D 1.99q,
- and now HyperCard runs fine. ResEdit runs (yes!) except I cannot
- open up snd resources. Executor makes me "restart."
-
- Anybody know why this is a problem?
-
- I also just got access to the newsgroup, and I am wondering why
- it took so long.
-
- I hope this is useful-

- Seems to run Quicken 5 fine except for the button bar across the top.
-
- Not a showstopper, but definitely an eye catcher.

- Hello Everyone,
-
- I am useing Executor on a Windows 95 PC. Everything that came
- with it seems to work fine. I can access all my folders with the long
- name support just great. My big malfunction is the .hqx extension does
- not allow me to run a program. I converted some binary files with the
- BinHex program that came with Executor, and all I can do is look at the
- 'text' of the file with the text editor. How do I set the file to
- execute??? This is the same with files that I FTP down to my PC.
- I have not registered yet (I am waiting on my checking account
- to be set up) and the 10 minute time out is limiting my ability to work
- with Executor to get this working. It takes almost 2 minutes to start
- it up each time. I am looking at the clock the whole time so I can exit
- without loosing all my progress. Would ARDI release a version with a
- little longer time limit? I can understand them not wanting
- unregistered software out there, this is not shareware, but it is being
- distributed in that manner... I am very reluctant to register a program
- I don't have time to test fully. Maybe they can disable most of the
- nice features or put in lots of nag screens. At least then I could test
- out some things before it crashes violently on me...
- Thanks for the help.
