Our DOS extender had a problem that caused Executor under DOS or
Windows to be unstable under some circumstances. This was first fixed
(if I remember correctly) in 1.99p5.

I'd suggest picking up and trying 1.99p6, which is our latest
"Bleeding Edge" version, but which is still much more stable than
1.99p. We're working on getting 1.99p7 then 1.99q out before we
officially start releasing beta versions, so technically what you've
run in the past is pre-Beta.
We will continue to make demo versions available exactly so people can
test Executor on their own machines before buying the non-demo
versions, since once Executor 2 is finalized, if the demo version
crashes on your machine, the non-demo version will too, but tracking
down those mystery crashes from before is one of the reasons Executor
