Hey guys. I have read this list everyday for the last few months with
much interest. I looked forward to it arriving in my mail box (I get
the digest). I find people to be very helpful on this list, and I have
mailed people specific answers to a few linux questions.
One of the things that really sets Ardi apart from other companies is
the quality of the technical support. While executor is inargueably
beta software, I still paid the full registration fee. I want to
support a company like Ardi.
One of the best features of Ardi's support has been this list. However,
with the advent of the new newsgroup to mail daemon, my mailbox is now
filled three times a day with mail of a questionable signal to noise
ratio. Where I once could count on reading upto the minute technical
info and configuration tips, now I can read upto the minute questions
answered in the faq and on http: ardi and vorlon. I can also read
people whining that they don't think Executor is a good deal. This has
very little interest to me, and I doubt the rest of your customers.
So here is what I would love to see, this list continue on, but not as a
duplicate of usenet, but as a place where people who want to work with
executor, and have paid for executor (I don't really care if they have
paid or not...but the bozo asking for another "demo key" should be sent
all the core dumps every produced my executor INMO), a place where real
information is traded about the executor project. I would even go so
far as to ask that it be moderated.
In short, getting good information is hard these days. I am saddened to
see a valuable resource turn into a high noise environment, and I hope
that something an be done to accomadate those who would like to see
