  24. With 8MB of RAM you'll have trouble in X-windows. You should get at least
  25. 12MB to avoid excessive swapping. I have the same video card and the video
  26. performance is OK for most applications. Here are some benchmarks I did for
  27. the LJ article that was just published:

  45. Bottomline the DX4-100 is faster than a Mac LC III for almost everything and
  46. if one uses the -privatecmap option for X-windows the grapics performance is
  47. reasonable with an accelerated graphics card.
