  23. Along the line of my "Linux Journal" article (issue 19, Nov 1995) I have 
  24. the following to say from the point of view of a 100% Linux user: Executor
  25. provides much needed functionality for Linux since one can run commercial
  26. productivity applications. Linux by itself does not provide stable Windows
  27. emulation yet (and we are waiting and waiting and ...). There have only a few
  28. commercial wordprocessors, spreadsheets, etc. been ported to Linux. So one
  29. reasonable alternative is to use executor and Mac-applications to bridge
  30. this gap. Also, Mac applications can he bought fairly cheap from Mac users.
  31. Bottomline, in the short term executor can help me to get some much needed 
  32. applications running under Linux.

  34. The future might look different though. Linux applications are emerging at a
  35. rapid pace at the moment. Also the Linux Windows emulator WINE does make
  36. steps forward and is expected to run major Windows applications (like
  37. AmiPro) in the not-too-far future. The usefullness of executor has to be
  38. re-evaluated at that stage of the game.
