Maybe a RAMDISK? The big question is what does "executor -info" say. If other things are tying up your memory, Executor may be paging excessively. Granted our disk access isn't particularly optimized, but I'd guess the real problem is that Executor doesn't have enough memory to run. The output of the "mem" command would help, too. Yes, good advice. We will be sure to follow it. I have a bit of a vested interest in ARDI myself. The complete details of how to run clean-room + dirty-room reverse engineering are too complicated to go into here, but one of the key aspects of it's all supervised by intellectual property attorneys and with a massive paper trail. Although ARDI has had legal counsel from day one, we don't yet have the resources to do clean-room + dirty-room reverse engineering properly, so we haven't done any dirty-room work at all. >> --Cliff ctm@ardi.com Jean-Marc> Jean-Marc Ranger - --Cliff ctm@ardi.com ------------------------------ From: milewis@bu.edu (Michael R. I lost the e-mail on pricing so if you could send me the prices for executor I would appreciate it. It finally does what I want. However, now that it runs, KaliedaGraph won't print. In fact none of the applications will print. I get a 'Fatal Error', 'Unimplemented Trap 'AA02''. It then says to restart. However, after I restart if I try to print again executor crashes completly giving an error that moves off the screen to quickly to see. I'm running a P-100 with 16MB RAM and a Matrox MGA Millenium video card. Any help would be appreciated. I've been able to print from Kaleidagraph 3.0.5 to a PostScript file without any problems (from Windows 95) and view it from GhostScript. I did get an error when I tried to export to a PICT file, though. I don't remember off the top of my head what error it was, but it would only kill Kaleidagraph and not Executor. - --- Stephen Su ssu@garnet.berkeley.edu ------------------------------ From: ctm@ardi.com (Clifford T. Matthews) Date: Wed, 15 Nov 95 16:02 MST Subject: Gateway 66 MHz DX2 users? Hi Folks, We have two different people, both of whom have 66 MHz DX2 Gateway machines (both have 8 MB of RAM) that can not get Executor to properly access their floppy drives. I'm looking for other people with the same setups who can say whether or not Executor can read and write 1.4 MB Mac formatted floppies on such machines. If you have a 66 MHz Gateway 2000 machine and you've tried to read and write HD floppies in Mac format under Executor, please send me a quick report saying whether or not you've detected any floppy anamolies and the workaround (if any) you've found and how much memory your machine has. Additionally, BIOS revision might help, too.
