  8. I had a problem with a big (230 Mb) hfv I made in order to back up my macs
  9. hard disk. It worked fine until it was about 190 Mb full, and then every
  10. time I copied a file to it a GP fault occurred. When I went back into
  11. executor, the copied file was corrupt, in that I couldn't move it, delete
  12. it or access it. Wierd things happened when I deleted the directory
  13. containing it. Delete gave an error of the Abort/Continue style, and after
  14. I had aborted it was still there, but when I opened it it contained its
  15. parent directory. After a few minutes of playing in this way, I had
  16. completely messed up the volume! Reading and writing to my 'real' 240Mb
  17. mac hard disk gave no problems. Eventually, I backed up by making two
  18. smaller hfvs and had no problems. Somewhere I have the exception
  19. tracebacks and error numbers, which I can send if you want, together with
  20. details of my machine.

  22. While I'm here a few points I noticed about the browser and the filesystem.

  24. 1. An apple-d key to delete a file (or even a trashcan) would be very 
  25. handy.

  27. 2. The ability to select multiple folders for copy/move/delete operations 
  28. would be good.

  30. 3. When you copy a big folder (about 100 or more files in it), there is a 
  31. long delay before copying starts. And if you're copying small files, it 
  32. seems to be much slower than copying the equivalent amount of data in big 
  33. files. On a mac, these operations seem to happen quite efficiently.

  35. I can see that all of this might not be high on your list of priorities, 
  36. but here it is all the same!
