Hi Folks,
ftp://vorlon.mit.edu/pub/ardi has a valid mirror of ARDI and a couple
of other people have mentioned other sources for 1.99p6. I'll be
collecting the mirror site information togetether and putting it in
our welcome message in the next week or so.
We waited until 1.99p6 was out to put a new 4 gig disk drive in one of
our computers and are now in the process of doing that. This will
allow us to have a bigger testing library (currently we do too much
disk shuffling just to get a particular app in place for testing),
allow us to install Windows NT (thanks to Chris hedberg) and also have
space to build the disk image for the 2.0 CD-ROM. The disk went in
fairly smoothly, but we're having a little trouble getting Linux to
boot off sda5 (the first logical partition in our extended partition).
There have been a few really major bugs reported in 1.99p6 for
NEXTSTEP and a few regressions elsewhere. Give us a week or so to
regroup and we should have 1.99p7 out. If there are no regressions in
1.99p7 we'll rebuild it as 1.99q and then put together our first beta
CD-ROMs.
As people are realizing that the time to register at the pre-2.0
prices is running short, we're seeing more orders. This is good, but
we still have the same number of full-time employees, so our response
time may slow down just a little. Please be patient, but don't put
off ordering Executor if you're thinking about it -- we *will* raise
the prices as soon as 2.0 is sent to the CD-ROM duplicators.
