E/Dos1.99p4 ran NIH-Image as fast as my 6100 on a Gateway 486Dx2-66 with 8 megs Ram, 5 of which were designated applzone. It accessed my drives. It accessed my network drives! Under it, IMAGE made the same errors as if it were run natively on a MAC (can't beat that for performance). Version E/Dos1.99p5 has slowed down the program nearly to the point of unusability. Click on a button in IMAGE to access a menu, start counting and by 5 Mississippi, the menu appears most of the time. (Takes longer otherwise.) I do not know where to begin to diagnose this condition since everything does work as expected, only as if the commands were sent to Saturn, circled Uranus, and returned home between the command and the action.
