  26. Maelstrom bypasses Quickdraw and writes directly to the screen, which
  27. requires you to turn on "refresh" mode.  Perhaps refresh mode isn't
  28. on.  1.99p4 will automatically turn it on for you.  Also make sure
  29. you've got Maelstrom's sound turned off.
