Deadlines approach. Message-ID: <Pine.BSF.3.91.951001121434.320A-100000@localhost> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Sender: owner-paper@nacm.com Precedence: bulk I just tried out Executor/Linux 1.99p under FreeBSD's Linux emulator and it seems to work fairly well (though not as fast as under native Linux). If ARDI would like to get some free publicity for Executor, read the attached message about submitting Executor to the next FreeBSD CD-ROM to be released by Walnut Creek on October 8th. This is a great opportunity to get some additional publicity, and as I mentioned, Executor/Linux does run under FreeBSD's Linux compatibility mode. If you get a good response and have time after the final 2.0 release ships, you might want to compile a native FreeBSD version, hint hint! :-) P.S. Jordan, I'm forwarding this message to you. ARDI makes a really excellent color Mac emulator for NEXTSTEP, DOS, and Linux, which has been in public beta test for years, and is nearing official commercial release. Even though a Linux program might not be 100% appropriate for a FreeBSD CD, I thought it would be worth passing this information to both parties and maybe you can work something out. The demo version is fully functional but only runs for 10 minutes at a time. Check out http://www.ardi.com/ for more info. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Jake Hamby | E-Mail: jehamby@lightside.com Student, Cal Poly University, Pomona | System Administrator, JPL ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Fri, 29 Sep 1995 23:26:34 -0700 From: Jordan K. Barring any unforseen delays, the FreeBSD 2.1 release will be burned onto CDROM and released simultaneously onto the net on Sunday, the 8th of October. If you would like to see a commercial demo of some sort make it onto the CD, then the time to submit it is ASAP! "Commercial" in this instance is defined any as software for sale, shareware, or a limited functionality/time-bombed demo. All submissions should be accompanied by whatever advertising or promotional information you would like distributed with the product. If your product has a fancy installation script, please include that as well. Thank you! Jordan
