  18. this doesn't work.  i've tried quite a few things; nothing will restore 
  19. the display (ie, reset, set80...).

  21. what i haven't tried is rebooting, not running SVGATextMode, and then 
  22. running executor-svga.  perhaps the display will be ok then.  i'll give 
  23. that a try when i go into the lab this afternoon.
