  15. well, i've recently tried a few things that have made me even more  
  16. happy about executor.  
  17.  
  18. the SVGA ELF version i tried works with the new SVGA lib.  i'm running
  19. 1.2.11, ELF, ELF compiled SVGA libs (1.2.7), with an STB Powergraph 64
  20. card (S3 based, Trio64 chipset).
  21.  
  22. none of the a.out programs i have work with the new lib.  however, and
  23. this seems a bit odd, ld (or is it ldd?), is able to deal with the two
  24. versions.  i have the old libvga.so.1 in /usr/local/lib and i put the
  25. new stuff in /usr/lib. this seems to work ok.

  27. the major problem i have now is that the console is unusable after
  28. using executor-svga.  the screen is completely messed up and the only
  29. way i can get it back is by rebooting, not my favorite thing to do
  30. frequently.   i'm also running SVGATextMode to get a better display on
  31. the console so perhaps this is a problem...

  33. in other news, 1.99p seems great.  it remembers what windows were open
  34. after i launch an app and remembers things i add to the hot band as
  35. well.  these are both great improvements.  i'm not sure if this is
  36. just me, but it also seems to run a bit faster now.

  38. anyway, this is just great for me.  i'm looking forward to pounding
  39. out my second publication using Word under executor, hopefully in the
  40. next month!
