-
- yes, give us more info.
-
- a couple of us have been having major troubles installing an ELF version
- of the news SVGA lib. are you working with this?
-
- also, have you removed the old version? i think this has to happen in
- order for ld to use the lib.
-
- ie, i don't think you can have two libvga.so.1 symbolic links around.
- did you run ldconfig -v after installing to determine what ld is seeing?
-
- i can apparently compile the new SVGA lib in ELF, a couple of warnings,
- but nothing big. unfornutately the new libs just don't work. this is
- probably because i just don't have a clue about how to install a new lib
- anyway (well, i'm not _totally_ clueless...).
-
-
- earlier on the list we were discussing other programs that can or
- cannot use the new lib. since executor seems to start up whether or
- not the lib is present it's not the best diagnostic. i was trying to
- use zgv or doom instead since these don't crash my console display (i
- hate having to telnet in as root to reboot the machine...).
-
- let us know what doom or zgv or sasteroids or any other prog that uses
- libvga says when you try to run them.
-
- anyway, i've always considered the BleedingEdge releases to be
- something like the 1.3.* kernels or 1.1.* kernels. it's way beta and
- i try not to complain when it won't work for me since i wouldn't know
- how to get it to work.
-
- my $0.02...
