- Usually, Linux drivers for new hardware come out quickly, because some
- hacker takes a driver for a similar device and modifies it as necessary.
- The reason there is still no Linux driver for the parallel Zip drive is
- because Linux has no driver for ANY parallel-port drive. Those Backpack
- hard drives and tape drives don't work with Linux either. I also don't
- know of one of these in development anywhere, but I'm sure somebody is
- working on one (probably more than one "somebody"), and when they get it
- working, then all those devices should be supported fairly quickly.
