Currently it's on ftp.ardi.com. It should soon be on vorlon.mit.edu. Alan asked why we require kernel 1.3.15 instead of 1.2.x. The answer is in BleedingEdge/README, which is produced below. Fun games to run under SVGAlib include Maelstrom, Apeiron and Solarian. --Cliff ctm@ardi.com README: The README file that used to be here was inadvertently destroyed. We will try to bring this one up to speed soon. In the meantime, here is are some comments about the SVGAlib port: In general, if you're not already familiar with SVGAlib under Linux, you shouldn't try running 1.99o7. Wait for 1.99p and we'll have some nicer installation instructions. The SVGAlib port requires kernel 1.3.15 or later to run. This is necessary because Executor/SVGAlib needs to be able to get a SIGIO sent to it when the state of the mouse changes. In older kernels this worked only for bus mice. So if you have a bus mouse you *may* be able to get by with an older kernel, but since our testing machine has a serial mouse, we had to upgrade. The SVGAlib shared libraries that we use are 1.27. This is a very new version of SVGAlib (we pulled it out of Sunsite's Incoming directory, but it may be in its proper home by now). We've had some trouble with this new version of SVGAlib, and in fact, we can't get its own test programs to run. In addition we've successfully run E/L/SVGA on a Mach32 card, but on a Cirrus based card E/L/SVGA died. We're looking into these problems and hope to have them straightened out by the time 1.99p ships.
