  17. Sounds to me like your video card is defaulting to a crummy refresh 
  18. rate.  You need to run some software (my Diamond SteedStar 64 has
  19. a utility called SSMODE) that will kick the card into high gear from
  20. a DOS session.  Windows and OS/2 drivers do this for you, but in
  21. DOS it often has to be explicitly done.

  23. That also applies to OS/2 VDMs, BTW, and possibly other VMs in other 
  24. environments as well.
