  14. In OS/2land, a copy of GZIP also exists, and it works quite well.  But we
  15. also have PKZIP 2.04g-compatible utilities from the nice InfoZIP folks
  16. that are freeware (and support EAs!).  :-)

  18. The advantage PKZIP's format has is a high level of recognition.  If a 
  19. DOS user downloads a ZIP file, chance are extremely high that he/she will 
  20. understand what needs to be done to extract the contents.

  22. GZIP is *not* well-know in the DOS world.  On BBSes it's practically 
  23. nonexistant.
