  16. In OS/2land, a copy of GZIP also exists, and it works quite well.  But we
  17. also have PKZIP 2.04g-compatible utilities from the nice InfoZIP folks
  18. that are freeware (and support EAs!).  :-)

  20. The advantage PKZIP's format has is a high level of recognition.  If a 
  21. DOS user downloads a ZIP file, chance are extremely high that he/she will 
  22. understand what needs to be done to extract the contents.

  24. GZIP is *not* well-know in the DOS world.  On BBSes it's practically 
  25. nonexistant.
