  18. I've noticed a few apparent bugs in the emulator, and would appreciate
  19. any suggestions/workarounds anyone might have.  I'm running version
  20. 1.2.8 of the Linux kernel and XFree86 3.1.1.  Apologies in advance if
  21. these have already been discussed; I'm a newcomer to the list.

  24. 1) Most desktop-state information is lost between successive
  25. invokations of the "Go" Browser shell.  Open windows (except for those
  26. displaying the root directory of a disk volume from the hot-band)
  27. don't stay open between sessions, and any changes made to the
  28. "hotband" get erased.  This happens both when running a Mac app. then
  29. returning to the Browser, and when I quit and re-start Executor
  30. itself.  It doesn't seem to be a permissions problem-- the whole
  31. /usr/local/lib/executor tree is owned by my user ID, and I've even
  32. tried running Executor as root.  Also, everything worked fine under
  33. 1.99m; it's only when I upgraded to 1.99o that this glitch showed up.

  35. 2) The Browser completely hangs when opening certain folders (always
  36. on the same ones)... I think all the folders that cause this are
  37. missing resource fork "%_____" entries, but this isn't a sufficient
  38. condition-- many such folders work fine.

  40. 2) The Alt-Shift-1 info panel says the Mac "Option" key maps to the
  41. right-hand Alt (AltGr), but I can't get it to work, regardless of how
  42. this key is set up in XF86Config (tried RightAlt = Meta, which makes
  43. it another Apple/Squiggle; when RightAlt = Compose, the only other
  44. common setting, it has no effect at all inside Executor).

  46. 3) Desk Accessories can't be added to the Apple menu; not even the old
  47. HFS_Xfer shows up, though it's in the System Folder.  Am I missing
  48. something here?  Placing it in Fonts & DAs doesn't work either.

  50. 4) Executor often hangs on startup after trying to access my SCSI
  51. CD-ROM drive if an audio CD player program (Workman, etc.) is active.
  52. The executor process goes into "D" state (uninterruptible sleep--
  53. makes it impossible to kill, even with signal 9) and subsequent
  54. instances also block trying to probe the CD drive.  These 'dead'
  55. processes go away when try to mount any CD (even an audio disk) from
  56. another window.
  57.    This could just be a problem with my kernel and its interactions
  58. with the drive, rather than with Executor itself.  Still, is there any
  59. way to override the CD drive scan every time it starts?  (aside from
  60. hiding/renaming the /dev entries?)  This also stops any music disk
  61. that might be playing, kinda annoying...

  63. That's all I can think of for now :-).  Thanks in advance for any
  64. help.  I have to say I'm *very* pleased with this product, even given
  65. the current rough spots.
