- I've been trying to figure out the following problem for days now:
-
- How do I set up a PIF file to enable Executor to run twice at once? (The
- only way to do Executor Multitasking at this point.) I've tried allocating
- a limit of XMS as small as 512 and as large as -1 (as much as wanted by the
- application) and conventional as small as 210 and as large as -1, and setting
- the second PIF to -1 on all... the first always runs just fine... the second
- always says "Not enough DPMI memory." (By the way, the numbers above are
- in Kilobytes.)
- Anyway, I have approx. 4 Meg of true physical RAM which should be
- available at Executor run time to run it... shouldn't that be enough to
- run it twice? (Barely...) I mean, that leaves about .5 Meg to run the applzone
- on, which will work (I've tried it...)
-
- Does anyone know how to set the PIFs? Or how to ensure that Windows leave
- s
- as much physcial RAM available as possible (i.e. use up virtual memory and
- softRAM first -- softRAM is not interfering, by the way. Already checked that.)
-
- Thanks,
- Gene
