  8. I just installed 1.99o, and I noticed that the FAQ states that Executor is
  9. known to work with CWSDPMI, OS/2 and Windows as DPMI providers. You can add
  10. 386Max to that list. Executor runs well under 386Max, better than under
  11. Windows or CWSDPMI in fact.

  13. This section should also mention that Executor will crash when Novell DPMS
  14. (Dos Protected Mode Services) is running. This is the memory manager used by
  15. Novell DOS and Stacker. Fortunately, Stacker can be run without it if you
  16. are using another memory manager such as 386Max, and doesn't use it when you
  17. are running Windows. A simple fix, so it should mentioned in the FAQ in the
  18. DPMI section.

  20. Version 1.99o works well. Speedometer is useful: I installed a disk cache
  21. after I ran it, and Executor sped up dramatically. I noticed that the
  22. benchmarks run faster the second time; cache and recompilation effects I assume.
