In general, doing things with the browser is preferred to using HFS_XFer. However, if you've reinstalled HFS_XFer (by dragging it into the hot-band and then running any program), and can point to specific combinations of programs and HFS_XFer usage that fails, we'll try to fix it. However, we need bug descriptions that say *exactly* what you did when it died. Even if you can't reproduce those crashes, if you can at least tell us what you did when it failed once, that's a start -- a traceback is a help, too. Gavin> 2. If you want to continue using BinHex, however, fiddle with the "Newline Mapping" option in the preference panel (Cmd-Shift-5). Linux and DOS handle newlines slightly differently, so E/D has different prefs for each. Gavin> 3. Are HFV's of use under Linux? Add that to the unofficial ARDI web pages if you have WWW access (we don't). The URL is http://vorlon.mit.edu/pub/arditop.html. --Cliff ctm@ardi.com
