I'll take a look again, however... This would happen if you installed 1.99n4 over a 1.99m distribution. This is my configuration: This is a known bug in 1.99n. Please pick up ftp.ardi.com:/pub/BleedingEdge/linux199n4.tar.gz, which fixes this problem (and others). Thanks. - -Mat ------------------------------ From: mat@ardi.com (Mat Hostetter) Date: Wed, 12 Jul 95 16:26 MDT Subject: Re: Big Downloads >>>>> "george" == george portell <75567.716@compuserve.com> writes: george> So when you put out an update there MUCH use of the george> modem. I've written some software which could allow us to create relatively small upgrade programs from 1.99n to 1.99o (etc.), but it would take some work to get it right. It might, for example, require you to install a fresh 1.99n and then update that. george> Your HFV directory is an excellent idea. Can users george> contribute? If so how?A simple disclaimer in your log on, george> for those who don't know what "copyright" means, would be george> in order. The problem is that various shareware and freeware utilities have license restrictions that preclude us from making them available. We need to check the redistribution restrictions of each program ourselves before we can make it available. - -Mat ------------------------------ From: THOMAS MICHAEL KLUDY <tkludy@engin.umich.edu> Date: Wed, 12 Jul 1995 18:25:53 -0400 (EDT) Subject: Tracebacks from my Executor/DOS crash I downloaded and tried the 1.99n4 executable, and I am still having the same problem with Executor/DOS; that being, when I start it, the screen just goes black. Thus, I tried Ctrl-Break, and it gave me these tracebacks: Control-Break Pressed at eip=00150d7e eax=00000000 ebx=00000023 ecx=00000000 edx=00000034 esi=00171090 edi=001c171c ebp=001c16d0 esp=001c16c4 cs=00a7 ds=00af es=00b7 fs=00cf gs=00cf ss=00df Call frame traceback EIPs: 0x00150d7e 0x000c855c 0x000288cf 0x000286a8 0x000ab914 0x000202ac 0x0009f953 0x0014a460 I then tried Executor with the -nosplash option. Same problem, and when I pressed Ctrl-Break, it printed the following, then locked hard (Ctrl-Alt-Delete didn't even work). Invalid TSS at eip=149f50; flags=3002 eax=00000001 ebx=000017e8 ecx=00000000 edx=001826ff esi=00001524 edi=00004238 ebp=00000000 esp=00004184 cs=a7 ds=3b es=33 fs=33 gs=0 ss=33 error=00a4 Hope this info helps. BTW, I checked carefully, and Executor doesn't get to the stage where it looks for a CD. I tried with and without CD drivers, with and without MSCDEX, in Windows, in DOS, and practically every other way I could think of. - - Tom Kludy ------------------------------ From: mat@ardi.com (Mat Hostetter) Date: Wed, 12 Jul 95 16:52 MDT Subject: Re: 1.99n notes >>>>> "Chad" == Chad Page <cpage@best.com> writes: Chad> 1.
