I read about the OS/2 problems and began rearranging my office so I can try to install OS/2 Warp on our laptop -- a TI TravelMate 4000M -- while I look into other 1.99n bugs. Unfortunately, just like when we tried to install it on our Dell OmniPlex 590, the OS/2 installation disks claimed that they had no drivers for our CD-ROM. So for now we'll have to look at your traceback. It's dying in the library routine "getmntent", which is a relatively recent addition to the DJGPP library that we use to build Executor. My guess is that any program using getmntent and the DJGPP V2 beta that we used to build 1.99n will die under Warp, but without Warp installed it may be hard for anyone at ARDI to do more than this. I'm bcc'ing this letter to DJ Delorie to see if he knows of any problems with getmntent and Warp. If we can't get a workaround soon, I can add a command line switch that bypasses our use of getmntent (we never used this routine in previous releases of Executor -- it's this routine that allows us to figure out what DOS hard drives there are, which is a feature new to 1.99n). Right, and for DJ's benefit, I'll mention that you appear to know OS/2 fairly well from my perspective. We really want to have Windows 3.x, Warp and Caldera's Linux installed on that puppy so we can show Executor off to people with stacks of hundred dollar bills. --Cliff ctm@ardi.com
