  25. Why not allow the CD-ROM to use letters all the way to Z:, since that's   
  26. the usual lastdrive limit for DOS, OS/2, etc.?

  28. It's not that uncommon.  In my current configuration here, for example,   
  29. I use C: thru J: for hard drive partitions (my CD-ROM is drive K: now),   
  30. and I'll likely add several more when I add another physical drive here.  
  31.                                                                           
  32. (If you're curious why I did this: I split my 620MB of drive space into   
  33. little 80-85MB chunks so that each fits on one DC2120 tape using my little
  34. Jumbo 120 (QIC-40) drive.  It makes backups easier to organize, and lets  
  35. me experiment with several filesystems/OS's with minimal fuss.)
