  37. OK... now I know this thread really shouldn't be continued on this list, but 
  38. I just had to reply to this. Everyone knows that Win95 is not a cutting edge
  39. platform. It is a slapped together, excuse for an OS. It is what DOS should have
  40. been about 2 years ago. OS/2 and older brother NT, not to mention LINUX, and BSD
  41. are real 32bit OS's that are based on the "cutting edge".

  46. single address space
  47. cooperative multitasking of 16bit Win3 apps
  48. poor memory protection
  49. allows use of realmode 16bit DOS device drivers as system drivers

  52. emcapsulated address space
  53. preemptive multitasking of 16bit win3 apps
  54. Memory protection

  56. this list is short, but the first two alone clue me in to the fact that
  57. Windows 95 is not a cutting edge platform.
