  13. This is a reply to your diskdup message and an earlier message I believe
  14. that you posted regarding use of Kinko's Public Macs.  My Pop connection was
  15. down for a few days and I could not download my messages.  Because of this I
  16. had to rely on my faulty memory.  For those of you who may have noticed my
  17. faulty grammar and spelling in my last couple of posts, that is also the
  18. reason.  (When I work in real time, I make make more  mistakes than I like).

  20. 1.      Moving 800k Mac Files onto 1.44 meg Macdisks.  The easiest thing
  21. that I have found when working on a real Mac is to preformat the Macdisks to
  22. 1.44.  Insert the 1.44 meg disk and eject it with a (Special-E).  Then
  23. insert the 800k mac disk.  Drag the icon of the 800k disk over the 1.44 meg
  24. disk.  All the files will be transferred as will the file name.  Mactools
  25. fastcopy program can also copy beteween densities.

  27. 2.      Kinko's Public Machines.   Kinko's public Macs are equipped with a
  28. program known as "Desk Tracy" which is designed to stop people from pirating
  29. Kinko's software from the harddisk.  The problem is that when you are
  30. copying files between your own disks the program will still tiger if the
  31. file has a namesake on the Kinko's machine. What you will need to do is get
  32. a Kinko's employee to shut the program off, which is obviously a
  33. discretionary call with them.  I didn't have a problem and have done it
  34. twice, but we obviously will be using different Kinko's.
