  1. Thanks to everyone who responded to my earlier queries.  I appreciate your
  2. answers to questions and suggesstions that were mostly rather naive.
  3.  
  4. The good news is that DNA Strider runs under 1.99k!!!  I copied a new copy
  5. of the RELibrary to the Executor volume (something that did not cure the
  6. error message under 1.99h) and now it works pretty well.
  7.  
  8. The bad news is that it crashes if I try to go to HFS-Xfer with DNA Strider
  9. open.  The following is the error message I got:

  129. Well i got my nice ergonomic mouse for $15 wholsale. Remember, the
  130. people who make their mice and their programmers are two different
  131. groups. Their mouse is one of the few MS products i'll use.

  177. I no longer need mouse.com (for now). I use a serial mouse and the SIO
  178. drivers. On my CL 5430, windowed VESA screens don't work. The computer
  179. is:

  218.      Can you try to add a startup screen? I downloaded a startup screen
  219. from America Online last year. It's the familar grey screen with a box.
  220. In the box, on the left is a Mac and there are words on the right in the
  221. familar Chicago font. It states "Welcome to Windows". Perhaps, you could
  222. change this to say, "Welcome to Executor"? This file is called
  223. Welcome3.Rle. You will need a version of Windows 3.x to view it. All you
  224. will have to do is decompress Welcome3.Zip to the C:\Windows\System
  225. subdirectory. Then, change to the C:\Windows subdirectory and executor
  226. Setup.Exe. Then, simply choose your video driver again. Press Enter.
  227. Hopefully, the next time you run Windows you will see the new startup
  228. screen. Be sure to use Pkunzip for 2.04g to decompress the file.

  258. for DOS, ver. 1.99f and with the Go GUI interface. I have received a window
  259. with "Console Message" in the titlebar. The message states "Couldn't Find

  531. We're definitely bypassing 1.99l for Linux.  There are just too many
  532. serious bugs out there (mostly in the browser) for us to release E/L
  533. 1.99l.  I STRONGLY suggest DOS users either run with "-nobrowser", or
  534. use the Browser only to launch applications, and then use HFS_XFer
  535. from within some application other than the Browser to do your file
  536. manipulation.

  579. that shall allow us to get these bugs fixed quickly.  We will release
  580. 1.99m after we get a significant number of these bugs fixed and get to
  581. a point where a small amount of extra work no longer results in a
  582. fixed bug.  We'll also do some retesting and make sure we haven't
  583. broken anything else.

  585. Exactly when we'll be done, we don't know, but we'll be working night
  586. and day on this, since some of the 1.99l browser bugs are much worse
  587. than we realized.
