  1. I just downloaded Executor 1.99l, and here are my first experiences.  
  2. Note:  I hardly ever use Executor/DOS since the Linux version has been 
  3. much more stable, but of course 1.99l for Linux isn't out yet:

  5. 1) The new Browser is great, just make it a little more like a real Mac 
  6. and it'll be perfect.  Also, why can't you resize the windows it opens?  
  7. I agree with the suggestion that you need a Color Apple logo too.

  9. 2) The DOS version is totally unstable under QEMM 7.5.  I have to disable 
  10. QDPMI in order to get it to run at all (understandable since QDPMI isn't 
  11. compatible with many DOS extenders, something you should mention in your 
  12. documentation or at least detect at run-time).  Even then, it crashes as 
  13. soon as I click on "Let's Go" in Lemmings or resize the window in 
  14. Ultimate Solitaire.  Here's the report when Lemmings crashes:

  22. 3) If I can't use QEMM, what DO you recommend for a memory manager?  It 
  23. appears to work just fine with NOTHING loaded (i.e. press F5 during 
  24. boot-up and load only the mouse driver), but even then it crashed once.  
  25. Should I load HIMEM.SYS or not?  Will it make a difference if I use a 
  26. different mouse driver than Microsoft Mouse 8.20?  (Note, it's these kind of 
  27. pesky configuration details which led me to prefer Executor/Linux by far!)

  29. 4) I know you've heard this from many people before, but you've GOT to 
  30. add sound support soon.  It should be pretty easy to add some primitive 
  31. digitized support for Soundblaster & compatibles, and even easier to add 
  32. Linux sound support.  You don't have to have the kind of fancy audio that 
  33. the "advanced" Macintosh sound chip supports, and certainly not the kind 
  34. in an "AV" Mac, but the basic 4-channel ADC converter would be a blessing!
