Do you mean as an actual Windows NT app that coexists with other NT
apps in a separate window, or as a DOS DPMI client?  If the former,
then the answer is "time".  We'd like to do that after we release 2.0.
I haven't investigated the various NT ports of the GNU compilation
tools, but I've heard they are out there.  If your question is the
latter, then the answer is "if it doesn't work already, then hopefully
1.99l will."

We would be ecstatic if this could be made to work.  It would cut down
on our DOS debugging cycle dramatically, which would free up more time
for other development (e.g. getting the NEXTSTEP port running again,
which is high on my priority list).  Executor/DOS 1.99l should be a
well-behaved DPMI client (using djgpp V2).  I'd be interested in
working with the dosemu folks to get Executor running under dosemu.  I
can tell them exactly what we do and even send them source code
snippets.

    I know, Linux is cool, but one needs NT to run apps... for now.
(If only NT weren't such a darn resource hog - makes a 32 MB system seem
like it has only 8-16...)

    (I hope you don't mind Mat for me mentioning these...)

    I think Mat's working on a version which is more of a pure DPMI
client which dosen't use go32 (it uses a new version of DJGPP in alpha
right now).

    Actually, Word for Mac came out first, and only in Version 6.0
did it become a (slow!) port of the Windoze version.  From what I hear,
Word/Mac 6.0 dooozzzzeeeeessss on real macs, and needs system 7 so it
won't work on Executor (like I'd even run it on a real Mac :)

    Although, Mac Word did become more like Word in 5.0 (kinda like
WinWord 1.5, it seems... some parts are 1.1, and others are like 2.0)

    I ALMOST got it to work.  The mouse dosen't work, and it blows up
after the splash screen.  Mat first mentioned the new DOS extender and
that it might work better (and if it didn't he'd send the details of the
DPMI calls used so dosemu could be enhanced.)

    BTW, I got DOOM II to run (slowly) under dosemu, but now that
there's linux(x/s)doom...

  I installed E/L 1.99j a few weeks ago and tried Lemmings.  It seemed
to run fine.  But just recently I installed k and ran it again.
Everytime the program changes the intensity of the screen, (which
Lemmings does a _lot_) it seems to labor.  It took about a minute
for the opening screen to come up and go away.  Is there a CL option
I have to set?
  Also, will E/L work for a term program over /dev/modem,
or will it in future?

I have a Macintosh CD-ROM and want to read it via Executor/Linux. It is a
SCSI Toshiba 3401 drive.

Is it a case of popping the disk in the drive and mounting it like a
macintosh scsi disk ?

I haven't got Executor/Linux yet ! It's downloading now !

This is because E/L is having to remap its colors to the public color
map.  Run Executor with the -privatecmap option and it will be MUCH
faster on those fades.
