  3. There is still at least one bug in the new DOS extender that we're
  4. using to build 1.99i.  We expect it to be fixed within another couple
  5. days, but I will be out of town from Thursday through Monday, so 1.99i
  6. will have to wait until Tuesday at the earliest to be built.
  7.  
  8. 1.99i will fix the horrendus bugs we introduced in the DOS version of
  9. 1.99h.  It will also have floppy support under Linux and a bunch of
  10. miscelaneous bug fixes for all platforms.
  11.  
  12. We are trying to work with NEXT to get access to some tools that will
  13. allow us to continue releasing NEXTSTEP versions of Executor.  We
  14. appear to be making progress, but it is a very slow process.

  38. I have the following problem: I have downloaded a large (12.5 Meg) binhexed
  39. Macintosh file. I wanted to port this to my Macintosh at home, but because
  40. it's so large, I have to segment it. I wanted to use Executor to do this. So
  41. my idea was to have Compact Pro to segment it. But Compact Pro uses a
  42. temporary file, which has to be on a Macintosh volume. Problem: I don't have
  43. a Macintosh volume under Executor which is large enough to carry the file
  44. (the largest one is about 3 Meg, I believe). So I tried to make a volume
  45. with MKVOL.EXE. I am able to create such a volume, but Executor doesn't
  46. recognize it.

  48. My question is: how come? How can I make Executor to recognize this volume?
  49. I can understand if MKVOL.EXE doesn't work with the demo (I'm using
  50. Executor/DOS 1.99b), but if so, it doesn't make sense to include MKVOL.EXE
  51. with the demo. Any ideas?

  53. A related question would be: is there any other way to workaround this
  54. problem, I mean to port this file to my Mac (I have to do this by floppy disk)?
