Reply-to: yanowitz@cs.umass.edu X-Mailer: MH 6.8.3 Date: Thu, 15 Dec 1994 10:53:16 -0500 From: Jason Yanowitz <yanowitz@unreal.cs.umass.edu> Sender: owner-executor@nacm.com Precedence: bulk Hi, I have a binhexed self-extracing archive sitting on my linux box that I want to get executor (199d) to recognize. All of the following fail: using HFS transfer to: 1) moving it into the executorvolume file system and having executor recognize it (even if I use the unix utility hexbin first to convert it back to a .sea file) 2) move the file into the ExecutorVolume directory structure and then try to unbinhex it (binhex starts doing something, and then dies -- the whole executor process hangs) 3) trying to unhex it elsewhere on the drive (in /tmp) and probably other stuff as well. it's a 3 meg file. what I will next try is using CompactPro on the mac but putting it onto three floppies. are there easier ways to manipulate the executor file system under linux? if someone needs more detail or has the answer, please let me know. (the application is MCL 2.0.1, by the way. if it works, I am definitely buying executor) -- Jason
