  17. Yes, our Linux prices are going to undercut our DOS prices, which  
  18. already undercut our NEXTSTEP prices.  Here's the scoop:

  20. When we finally start taking money for Executor/Linux, the rules will  
  21. be:
  22.  
  23.     no guaranteed support
  24.  
  25.     no printed manuals
  26.  
  27.     delivery via e-mail (eventually via <serial number,
  28.         authorization key> pair)
  29.  
  30.     $25 student price
  31.  
  32.     $50 educational (Universities, Professors, Staff) price
  33.  
  34.     $100 everyone else
  35.  
  36.     No volume discounts
  37.  
  38.     Free updates to the experimental version until 2.0 comes
  39.         out, but you have to pick them up electronically
  40.  
  41.     The prices above are for while Executor 1.99<x> is being
  42.         worked on.  Once 2.0 is a shipping product, we'll
  43.         reappraise it's price.

  45. When that happens, we'll also be lowering our NEXTSTEP prices and we  
  46. may also adjust our DOS prices.  As it is, we plan on getting  
  47. Executor/DOS 2.0 into our 1.x users hands cheaper than the $59 that  
  48. we originally envisioned, since we've pared back some of the proposed  
  49. 2.0 feature set.

  51. At this time, we do *not* know exactly what we'll do with our  
  52. NEXTSTEP and our DOS pricing.  I'm always interested in suggestions,  
  53. (send them to "suggestions@ardi.com"), but due to our currently high  
  54. volume of e-mail associated with Executor/Linux, we will not  
  55. necesarrily be able to acknowledge your pricing suggestions.
