Subject: More observations on 1.99a
Sender: Executor-Owner@nacm.com
Precedence: bulk
I was messing around with 1.99a some more this weekend and have the following
questions/observations:
1) The colour support seems to work quite well on the stuff that it works
with. I did notice some problems w/ some unimplemented system calls, but i
assume that this is due to Quicktime not being fully implemented yet [?]. I
also noticed in pagemaker 5 that if i tried to give a object colour, the
colour ended up all over the screen [somewhat randomly, not a complete fill]
and i had to quit to correct this.
2) In Freehand, the toolbox does not appear [???]. This has been happening
for several betas now, but i forgot to mention it.
3) I got the "Oh, no, More Lemmings" demo from the inet, and it seems to work
quite nicely 'cept the cursor is screwed up.
4) Fonts don't work at all now [when typing, although reading a document seems
close to working]. No font appears and the whole line turns black.
5) The Crystal Quest demo bombs after the first wave, and the real version of
Crystal quest doesn't work at all.
6) Res-edit doesn't work [although i didn't expect it to]
7) Had a couple of minor crashes while using the File Utility program [forget
the name]. I can't be more descript because i don't remember the exact
circumstances, since it worked when i tried it again.
8) The DarkSide didn't work. i had kinda hoped it would since it's not an
init, but i guess it still uses some screensaver specific bios calls?
also, what's the status of sound support that was going to be in 2.0?
Any chance on even preliminary support in 1.99x?
Sounds like some exciting things could be happening in the next few months.
