  5. If you have a modem, you have access
  6. to several national network systems.
  7. You've seen the ads, including those
  8. for: PlayNet, Quantum Link, People
  9. Link, Viewtron, CompuServe, the
  10. Source, and Delphi. If you were
  11. wondering what it was like on these
  12. networks, now you can find out. You
  13. don't even need a modem to try out
  14. our PlayNet Simulator. The program is
  15. a fake. You really aren't signed on
  16. the PlayNet system. It just looks
  17. like it.

  19. RUN the program. After a couple
  20. seconds your screen is transformed
  21. into a typical PlayNet screen. You
  22. are in a Public Room called COMAL.
  23. Other people are in the room with
  24. you. They are talking to you. And you
  25. can talk back! Yes, just type in
  26. something - press RETURN - and your
  27. message appears on the screen (your
  28. name is USER 1). The function keys
  29. work just like in PlayNet. Mail pops
  30. up on your screen and F5 deletes it.

  32. If you've been on PlayNet, you
  33. already know what it is like. This
  34. program allows you to show your
  35. friends - any time - any where. No
  36. modem required! No phone charges! No
  37. network bills! On the first Thursday
  38. of each month, you can come to the
  39. COMAL room for our national COMAL
  40. meeting (10pm Eastern time). Also,
  41. AHOY has a meeting at this time in
  42. the AHOY PORT OF CALL room. You can
  43. leave EMAIL (Electronic Mail) to me
  44. (Captain C) or to AHOY (Captain B).

  46. The second Thursday of each month we
  47. hold a national COMAL meeting on
  48. Quantum Link (10pm Eastern time).
  49. Quantum Link bought the PlayNet
  50. system software and vastly improved
  51. it. It adds a fast loader, can auto
  52. dial for you, allows 1200 baud modem
  53. use, and has a "capture" feature that
  54. lets you save a message from the
  55. Information Network to disk. But, it
  56. still looks and acts just like
  57. PlayNet. An added bonus on Quantum
  58. Link is the COMAL Question and Answer
  59. board. If you have any questions
  60. about COMAL, just go to CIN - MEET
  61. THE PRESS - COMAL TODAY. Then check
  62. out our Q & A board. If the
  63. information is not already there,
  64. just post your question. Usually
  65. within a day or two an answer will be
  66. posted.
