  1. This is a playable demo of Alone in the Dark by Infogrames.
  2. The play area is limited only to the first stage in the attic.
  3. Here you will hopefully encounter two monsters to kill, and 
  4. there are several objects to find.                  
  5. Use the arrow keys to walk. Hitting the 'up' arrow twice will
  6. make you run. To take an object, just run or walk into it.
  7. The ENTER key will list your inventory and several modes of 
  8. action you may take - fight, search, etc.
  9. In any mode, holding down the space bar will activate the action.
  10. In the fight mode, hold down the space bar and press one of the 
  11. arrow keys. Up/down arrows will make you kick, and left/right 
  12. arrows are for punching. Using a weapon is very similar - hit the 
  13. up arrow while holding down the space bar to fire your rifle.
  14. And oh yes, the 'S' and 'M' keys toggle sound and music respectively.
  15. These are two of the things that make this game so good - the sound
  16. effects are the best I've heard in any game so far.
