  13. VGA CONCENTRATE is a Fun and Challenging game for any age.  It tests
  14. the player's memory and concentration skills.  In this game the player
  15. tries to match colorful cards.  The game is easy to use and utilizes
  16. realistic graphics.  It can be a specially joyful learning experience
  17. for young children, and yet provide a formidable challenge for adults.
  18. This is done by selecting different levels and game cards.

  41. 3.                   SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS AND OPTIONS

  43. REQUIRES:  PC 386 compatible with 512K memory and a VGA or SVGA card.

  45. OPTIONAL: * Microsoft Mouse or compatible.

  48. 4.                         GAME OPERATION
  49.  
  50. Program installation: Once you have copied all files on your system,
  51. run VC.EXE to start.  If you wish to change the default setting run the
  52. setup program, SETUPVC.EXE and select the sound, pointing device,
  53. default Level and Default speed options.

  58. GENERAL :  If you plan to use the mouse, the mouse driver must be loaded
  59. before running VC.  The program displays information at the bottom of
  60. the screen whenever a new event takes place.  Please note that when
  61. using the keyboard, the "NUM LOCK" key must be OFF.

  63. MENUS :  When using the mouse, click on the left button to select items,
  64.          click on the right button to skip a selection.
  65.  
  66. When using the keyboard, use the arrow keys to move around, press the
  67. <SPACEBAR> or the <Enter> key to select menu items, press <ESC> to exit
  68. from the menu selection.  The main menu is accessible by pressing the
  69. F1  key for HELP, F2  for New game,  F3 for new Level and ESC to QUIT.

  72. :F1:   HELP  :  There is on line help that will explain the game
  73. :------------:  objective and what keys to use.

  76. :F2:  NEW    :  Select a new card set from the the displayed pictures.
  77. :------------:  If you are using the keyboard, move by pressing the
  78.                 arrow keys and press SPACEBAR or <Enter> to accept the
  79.                 selection.  If you are using the mouse, simply click on
  80.                 one of the displayed selections.  After you have solved
  81.                 the game, you can choose another set of VGA Concentrate
  82.                 cards by selecting the NEW option.

  85. :F3:  LEVEL  :  Lets you to select a new LEVEL of difficulty.
  86. :------------:  Level 1 is the NOVICE level with 16 game cards
  87.                 Level 2 is the MEDIUM level with 36 game cards and
  88.                 Level 3 is the EXPERT Level with 64 game cards

  91. :ESC:  QUIT  :  Lets you exit the game.

  94.                              HOW TO PLAY
  95.  
  96. TO START :  At the DOS prompt type VC followed by <Enter>.  Then the
  97. theme song will be played.  You can either wait until the whole song
  98. is played or you can press a keyboard key or hold a mouse button
  99. pressed for a while to stop the music before it finishes. Now you are
  100. ready to start.

  102. * Mouse : Use the mouse to move around and click on a card. Then select
  103. another until they match.  Of course your first few attempts are just
  104. guesses, use them to memorize the location of the cards.

  106. * Keyboard : Same as above except that you use the arrow keys to move
  107. around and the  SPACEBAR or <Enter> key to select cards.  Use F1, F2, F3
  108. and ESC keys to select menu options.  Continue until all cards match.

  114.                                 SCORING
  115.  
  116. Your Current Level, card set, and score are displayed at the bottom of
  117. the screen.  Scoring is very simple.  You start out with a score of 100.
  118. Then you only need to select a card at most twice, the first time to
  119. memorize the card's position and the second time to actually match it.
  120. Any additional selection of this card will result in subtracting one
  121. point from your present score.  The current LEVEL is also displayed at
  122. the bottom of the screen.

  124. The speed option in SETUPVC, controls how long a card is displayed on
  125. the screen.  What speed you should choose depends on how fast is your
  126. system and who is playing the game.  Children or some adults might
  127. prefer a slower pace.  If your system is slow use a faster SPEED.
  128. Feel free to change it to fit your mood.
