  7. HyperDOS is a comprehensive reference work on DOS, both MS-DOS and PC-DOS.  
  8. It's a very large and extensive program.  In order to have all the 
  9. information presented by HyperDOS available in printed form, you would have 
  10. to buy three to five reference books!

  12. HyperDOS is not aimed at the novice who doesn't even know what a keyboard is, 
  13. although even that is explained.  It's aimed at the person (new or 
  14. experienced) who wants to know more about how to control their computer.  The 
  15. methods explained in HyperDOS will increase your productivity, lower the 
  16. number of commands you have to key in, and, hopefully, dispell the mystery and 
  17. anxiety lying behind that little, blinking DOS command line prompt.

  66. To run the shareware edition of HyperDOS, type "SHDOS" at the DOS prompt.  
  67. The program will run a bit slowly from a floppy disk.  It will run much faster 
  68. if it can be run from a hard drive.  Of course, it will run the fastest if it 
  69. can be put in a RAMdisk...it really flies!  
  70.  
  71. In the future after you've run HyperDOS a few times, you may want to check a 
  72. particular DOS command.  To do that faster, enter:
  73.  
  74.                  SHDOS [command]      Example:    HYPERDOS COPY
  75.  
  76. To effectivley have HyperDOS available to use at any time, no matter what 
  77. directory or subdirectory you're in, do the following:
  78.  
  79. Create a subdirectory, i.e., C:\HYPERDOS, on your hard disk.  Then copy all 
  80. the HyperDOS files to that directory.
  81.  
  82. Using an ASCII text editor add the line:
  83.  
  84.                 SET HSPATH = [the directory name you put it into]
  85.  
  86. to your AUTOEXEC.BAT file.  Then, add that direcory name to your PATH 
  87. statment, i.e., [PATH = hyperdos].  Reboot your computer.  This way HyperDOS 
  88. can find all its files and run from anywhere.
