- 1. If you are on a Novell network and wish to run NCSEVAL:
-
- a. Create a user with SYSCON called DEMO-AT or DEMO-PS2.
-
- b. Login in as this user on the PC with COM port. No other
- user should log in with that user name.
-
- c. Go to the diretory where the NCS files were installed and
- type: NCSEVAL.
-

- ■ The workstation will then become your NCS Comm Server. The
- configuration of the server are in a file called: NCSSERV.NSC.
- This file can be examined by running the NCS Configuration
- Editor called: NCSEDIT.EXE.

- ■ If you run NCSEDIT you'll notice that DEMO-AT and DEMO-PS2 have
- been defined as having one active port only; COM1, with Device
- Class of PT1 for PORT-1.

- 2. If you are on a NetBIOS network and wish to run NCSEVAL:
-
- a. Go to the directory where the NCS files were installed and
- type: NCSEVAL DEMO-AT or DEMO-PS2 to activate the NCS.

- ■ The workstation will then become your NCS Comm Server whose name
- is DEMO-AT or DEMO-PS2.

- 3. Several easy to use batch files have been included on the NCS
- disk. These files will facilitate runnin and using the NCS
- solution. Please feel free to modify these files to fit your
- system.

- These files automatically load and run all workstation NCS
- software necessary to establish a connection with the NCS server.

- DTI14.BAT: For use with INT 14 software ONLY.

- DTI6B.BAT: For use with INT 6B software ONLY.

- DTNCA.BAT: For use with J&L's Network Communication
- Adapter (NCA card) which uses unmodified,
- non-INT 14 or 6B software.
