- This is a general purpose RAM disk for any MSDOS 2.00 machine.
-
- The size of the disk is variable, and is set in CONFIG.SYS, at boot
-
- time.
- To install RAMDISK, insert the follwing line in CONFIG.SYS on
-
- your boot disk:
-
- device = ramdisk.sys nnn
-
- Where nnn is a decimal number, specifiying the size of
-
- RAMDISK, in K bytes, i.e.
-
- device = ramdisk.sys 160 160K disk,
- device = ramdisk.sys 74 74K, fits WordStar overlays
- device = ramdisk.sys 512 512K, you have lots of RAM
-
- The drive number will be the next one available; i.e. on a PC
-
- with two floppies, drive C:, on a PC-XT, D:.
-
- WordStar note:
-
- With WordStar INSTALL, you can change the drive that WordStar
-
- looks for the .OVR files on. By installing the RAMDISK and copying the
-
- .OVR files to it every time you boot, WordStar will run incredibly
-
- fast.
