  34. Ok, Here's the deal. VMB Hacking Is not a HUGE deal and there really isn't
  35. a great deal of 'hidden info' that isn't common sense. But, If you are out
  36. there trying to hack a box and can't, follow through the VERY logical and
  37. simple steps and make sure they are matching up.

  40. Step 1:

  42. Finding a VMB System

  44. There are many ways you can find a VMB system, for instance, on a BBS when
  45. someone says 'Here are some systems' usually thats what they're referring
  46. to. Also, Try setting up your scanner and listening for 'Welcome to XX
  47. company, Enter extension #' or something similar to that. Then you have
  48. found a VMB system.

  51. Step 2:

  53. Finding a Box

  55. This is the part where most IDIOTS fuck up. You can NOT just take ANY box.
  56. You must make sure that no one is using it. There are several ways to do
  57. this. One EASY way is when you hack it, check the date on the latest
  58. messages, if they are OVER a month old, then I'd say your safe to use them.
  59. Also, watch in case there is just like _2_ messages in there from the last
  60. 4 months that those messages could be messages sent to ALL the boxes, see if
  61. they sound personal. If they DON'T, then grab the box.

  63. Let's say there's a box you REALLY want bad and someone's using it regularly,
  64. try doing this: Go in twice a day (make SURE you DON'T change the greeting
  65. etc.) and erase all the messages. He will complain and will eventually move
  66. out of the box. Then there is a good chance of you having that box. It's
  67. happned to me.

  70. Step 3:

  72. Hacking the VMB
  73.  
  74. This is the most SIMPLE part of all. MY general method is as follows:

  76. Find a box, let's say box 260. It's empty and I want it (obviously).
  77. First, try passcode '000', if that doesn't work, try passcode '260',
  78. just make very general guesses that's ALL. Some of the MOST Common passcodes
  79. are:

  81. 3 digit boxes:
  82. 000
  83. 123
  84. 111
  85. 222
  86. 333
  87. 444
  88. 555
  89. 666
  90. 777
  91. 888
  92. 999
  93. box # (say it's box 260, passcode: 260)
  94. 321

  96. 4 digit boxes:
  97.  
  98. 1234
  99. 0000
  100. 1111
  101. 2222
  102. 3333
  103. 4444
  104. 5555
  105. 6666
  106. 7777
  107. 8888
  108. 9999
  109. box # (Say its box 1200, try passcode: 1200)

  112. The Key: REALLY try ALL of those. I knew one system with a passcode of
  113.          '5555' and NO ONE could hack it. And I did. So don't give up.
  114.          UNLESS you've exhausted all of those possibilities. Then forget
  115.          it.

  117. That's it really. The most simple thing to do. Just remember not to
  118. give up before you should and also try 3 digit passcodes on 4 digit
  119. boxes. Also, once you get in for added security, a lot of these boxes
  120. allow more digits for passcodes, so make a 5 digit passcode. Or if you
  121. thing its worth it, try like '00000' so that's really about all.
