  4. In order to obtain connected status for a particular network,
  5. information about your sponsor must be supplied to
  6. HOSTMASTER@NIC.DDN.MIL.

  8. What is a sponsor?
  9.  
  10. A sponsor is a person in the government that has authorized your
  11. organization to connect to the DDN-internet.  We are looking for a
  12. sponsor that is OUTSIDE your organization, including a current person's
  13. name that heads the sponsoring organization.  Examples of current
  14. sponsoring organizations are the National Science Foundation (NSF),
  15. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), or any one of the
  16. military branches.

  19. The format of sponsor information to be sent to HOSTMASTER@NIC.DDN.MIL
  20. should be the following:
