- CONTROLLING YOUR SAP
- In the Jurassic Bark game
- you play the part of Yu Chi
- the Yew Tree. A new convert
- to Zen Bruce-ism (a
- geologically recent
- Bruce-istic cult), you
- practice the tenets of
- Bruce-ism faithfully.
-
- You move sap to the left and
- right with your arrow keys.
- (OK, a tree doesn't have
- arrow keys. But your
- keyboard does, so use
- THOSE.) Once you start your
- sap moving, you have to make
- a conscious effort to stop
- it - use the space bar to
- stop sap drift.
-
- Your quality rating climbs
- as you sap the bugs landing
- on your bark. It rises more
- when a patch of sap falls
- off. It rises more the
- bigger the patch of sap is.
- And it rises more the higher
- up the trunk you are when
- you do any of these things.
-
- It takes a three-by-three
- glop containing nine drops
- of sap to make a patch
- that's heavy enough to fall
- off your bark. And remember,
- the blue xylemic sap will
- not stick to the orange
- phloemic sap. It takes nine
- phloemic or nine xylemic
- drops together to make a
- glob big enough to drop off.
- If you mix them, you just
- get a bigger and bigger
- blotch of useless sap.
-
- That's all there is to it!
- Get rid of the bugs, and
- don't get covered with sap
- doing it. Play ends when
- you stick a piece of sap at
- the top of the trunk.
-
- P will pause the game and
- CTRL-S toggles sound
- !
