  1.   The name Monoclonius means "One
  2. Conqueror." It was so named for the
  3. single horn on its nose. Monoclonius
  4. was a North American herbivore that
  5. grew up to a length of eighteen
  6. feet.
  7.   Monoclonius is a Ceratopsian and
  8. related to the Triceratops and
  9. Styracosaurus. Like all Ceratopsians
  10. the Monoclonius had a sort of beak
  11. at the top of its snout. 
  12.   The Ceratopsians were the last
  13. major group of dinosaurs to appear.
  14. Ceratopsians descended from the
  15. Protoceratops of which many fossils
  16. have been found in the Gobi desert.
  17. A probable ancestor of all the
  18. Ceratopsians is Psittacosaurus, a
  19. four-foot long herbivore from East
  20. Asia with a bill like a parrot.^
